jDUNEDIN, This Day. After a light frost, conditions for training at Wingatui this morning were perfect. Violenta ran seven furlon.gs on the plough in lmin 31sec, after taking 54 3-ssec for the first "half-mile.

Straightdale was going better than Atwa Here at the end of half a mile on the outside of the grass track in 51sec. Denis Dowling accounted for Royal Style over five furlongs on the plough in lmin 5 2-ssec. Araboa started off fast from the half-mile post, but he was then allowed to slow up, and he took lmin 7 1-5 sec to complete the journey. If the weights suit, he will be started on the second day.

Moneyless ran half a mile on the outside of the grass track attractively, the last three furlongs in 38 2-ssec.

Janefield and Greenbank ran half a half on the course proper nex"t to the rails in 52sec. Greenbank is engaged in the two-year-old race on Saturday.

Song Boy (W. Cooper) was schooled over three hurdles, but there was not much pace on and he jumped indifferently.

Alma, Monipere, and Night Wings jumped away from behind the mile peg on the outside of the grass track, and after running the first half-mile in 50 4-ssec, completed the mile in lmin 43sec. Alma and Monipere finished on terms, but the former was going the better. Night Wings was only a length and a half away.

High Glee was slow to jump away and gave Kilrobe two lengths' start in a run over six furlongs on the plough. They ran the first three furlongs in 38sec, Kilrobe finishing half a length in front in lmin 16 4-ssec, which was easily the best gallop of the morning.

On the course proper and next to the rails, Gay Lancer and Islay Downs took 52 l-ssec to run half a mile. Gay Lancer was doing the better.
