TEMPERANCE WOMEN

BROOKLYN MEETING

The Brooklyn branch of the Women's Christian Temperance Union met recently in the Baptist Church, Mrs. Sawden, (life vice-president) being in the chair. The devotions were conducted by Mrs. Raine.

Mrs. Gillings read a paper entitled "A Challenge." Her temperance fact was: ''Alcoholic drink is a needless weight in the race of life." Arrangements were made for a special meeting in June, when Dominion and district officers will attend.

Mrs. Reid gave an address on "Peace." The meeting was closed with the pronouncement of the Benediction.

Later afternoon tea was served by the Baptist members, and Mrs. Pearson conducted a "bring and buy" stall with pantry goods, plants, and other saleable goods. . , .
