:Rexmann Miens reports for week ended June 4 that during the week the battery was assembled. A couple of days' work will complete this part of ■ the mill. The company's prospector- is investigating the Carvel lode system south of the main intrusive in the golden channel between Maiden and Hilda ore shoots, with the object of increasing the ore reserves which can be worked from Lamgans No. 2 adit level water free. The mill is situated close to the portal of this level, and transport costs will be down to the minimum. . Mount Lyell reports for the fortnight ended May 26:—Mines—North Mount Lyell: Tons extracted, 4174. Crown Lyell: Tons extracted, 487. West Lyell: Tons extracted, 25,094. Prince Lyell: Tons extracted, 1005. Lyell Tharsis: Tons : extracted, 600. Lyell Comstock: Tons extracted, 3548. No. 9 level, main crosscut to 54ft through porphyry and grey mineralised schist. Work was then suspended. No. 1 deep hole to 21ft through mineralised schist. Reduction works: Furnace in blast for full period; 8340 tons i-efinery anodes made for current year. Concentrator: Mill operated 336 hours and" treated 32,929 tons ore, producing 2036 tons concentrates. Copper refinery: Tank house in operation throughout fortnight. 538 tons cathode copper being produced. Total for current year 8376 tons.
