WANGANUI NOTES
WINTER RACE MEETING

Heavy showers, hail, and a little wind made the opening day of the Wanganui Jockey Club's Winter Meeting on Saturday as unpleasant as it could possibly be. An Eskimo' outfit was really needed in which to venture out on such a day, consequently smartly-tailored costumes and overcoats and the always-popular fur coats were universally worn. Among the many present were Mesdames P. A. O'Neill (in a Persian lamb coat), M« Smith (black frock and coat), N. R. Bain (navy suit and hat), H. D. Robertson (Persian lamb coat), W. F. Gilligan (furs>, D. Young (fawn camelhair coat), G. Grace (brown tweeds)-, A. Hatrick (brown suit), T. Vaugharj (green coat and skirt), A. Walker (navy suit and hat), G. Hall (tweeds), R. Lawrence (blue-grey tailored coat), R. Grace (brown tweed suit), F. Nancarrow (cigar-brown tweed), H. D. Bates (furs), M. Barton (beige coat and hat), F. Fantham (navy suit and hat), T. Wells (violet, tweed suit and hat), H. Christie (blue suit and furs), W. Bradley (brown suit and coat), W. McA. Duncan (grey squirrel coat), G. Currie (black tailored suit), I. Saunders (navy suit and hat), W. Grumitt (black and white ensemble), I. Todd (fawn coat and hat), W. Lyon Wobdville (navy suit), T. Blennerhassett (navy suit and hat), .S.
