PROFITABLE EFFORT
LEXICON CARD PARTY
The ladies' auxiliary of the Wellington Children's Health Camp Association held a card and lexicon party recently in aid of the King George V Memorial Fund. Among those present were:—Mesdames G. Bell, Broonan, A. Biernard, G. H. Blanchard, E. Casey, T. Cox, J. H. Dickinson, D. Dennis, H. Feruneaux, E. Green, W. Gaudin, N. A. Henderson, F. Hunter, E. Hatter, E. Hulbert, W. Henna, W. Land, N. R. Lightbody, M. Mcßay, A. B. Morris, L. Moss, T. R. Murphy, W. B. Mackenzie, B. Martin, F. McMenamin, H. C. Murray, N. Nickle, W. Phillips, ■F. S. Phillips, S. Quinlan, PI. B. Searle, W. F. Shirer, J. Southward, R. Tonks, W. Tucker, T. Tracey; and the Misses Futter, Irons, Ross, D. Tanner, L. J. Wells; and Mr. Byron Brown. Prjzes were won by Mrs. F. McMenamin (highest bridge score), Mrs. Hulbert (lowest score), and Mrs. Tonks (lexicon prize). The prizes were kindly donated by Mrs. J. S. Land, who also gave 10s to the fund. Mrs. K. Williams donated £2 from the Day's Bay Bridge Circle, and Mrs. Smith, Ellice Street, gave 10s. .
A dainty afternoon tea was provided by ladies of the auxiliary, comprising Mrs. E. R. Myers (president), Madame Bligh, and Mesdames Bentley, Burnett, Land, Meachen, Pinnock, Smith, Williams (Day's Bay), and M. H. Millar (hon. secretary and treasurer).
As a result of this effort £7 will be given to the memorial fund. Another card party is to be held shortly to raise funds to buy blankets, etc., for the Otaki Health Camp.
