Bffile Sooiety. The annual'meeting of tlie Khandallah- branch of .the British andForeiga Bible Society wais ' held yesterday at the home of the president, Mrs. E. H. Picot. Mrs. Porter' (organising secretary) delivered an address on the Bible and , congratulated the Khandallah branch on being on the 8.F.8.5. honours list ■ (i.e., having increased 'the previous year's collections). The following officers were elected:—President, Mrs. E. H. Picot; secretary, Mrs. I. K. Plimmer; vice-president, Mrs. Ffitch; collectors, Mesdames Dale, Falconer* "W. Phillips, Watts, A. H. Bath, K. Ffltch, Mansfield, E. Andrew, D. D. Scott, Clapperton, Oilier, and Goodwin. Votes of thanks were accorded to the president for afternoon tea, and to Mrs. Porter for her fine address. Bright Ideas. A young club with bright ideas on entertainment, the E.S.U. Younger. Circle, added further to its reputation last night when the members gave an enjoyable theatre party at the Majestic. There was a large attendance, and a cheery time was spent. Among those present were the following members of the committee: —Misses Adrienne Beere, Lorna Adams, Ngaire Blundell, Kathie Burns, Sybil Williams, and Messrs. Frank Pears and lan Darroch. After the picture a number of the members and friends went on to the Cabaret for supper and dancing. Dance at Majestic. Dancers are reminded of the wellplanned dance at the Majestic Cabaret which will take place tonight in aid of the King George V Memorial Fund. As extra attractions Phyllis Bates will give an exhibition dance with a partner, and Miriama Heketa will give a Spanish dance in costume. The function promises to be a very great success, and guests may look forward to a most enjoyable evening. Artillery Ball. The Artillery Ball this year is.going to be very gay, with ever so many attractions, but there is just one very important thing which guests are asked to remember, and that is that those who have received invitations, must bring them to the hall (St. Francis) if they have not already procured their tickets from the D.I.C. booking office. What everyone knows is that, a ball with many uniforms is always an attractive one, and to these will be added special decorations of the hall, while music, floor, and supper have all received earnest consideration, and the best may be expected.
