NEW W.D. BRANCH

(From "The Post's" Representative.} WANGANUI, June 1. For a considerable time the Women's Division of the Farmers' Union has hoped to form Maori branches. Some months ago several were formed on the East Coast, and the last branch to be formed in the Dominion happens to be a Maori one—formed last week at Motoiti, near Foxton. There are 20 financial members, and Mrs. Harford, Palmerston North, is "mothering" the branch until it is definitely established. Wanganui's "Younger Set." Victoria Hall was very gay with streamers, balloons, and big bowls ofi autumn flowers and foliage, when Mr. and Mrs. P. A. O'Neill entertained over 100 young people, in honour of.their daughters, Joyce and Nance. Mrs. O'Neill wore a smart frock of beige lace, with bands of brown fur on the sleeves. Miss Joyce O'Neill wore blue chiffon, and Miss Nance O'Neill scar-' let chiffon over taffeta. Personals. Mesdames J. B. Davis, H. D.- Bates, and S, Barton left on Monday for Auckland. Mesdames L. Duigan and R. Barton returned to Wellington at the weekend. PARKIN—HOLST. An early-morning wedding was celebrated at St. Mary's, Wanganui, recently, when Miss Hilda Hoist, second daughter of Mr. O. Hoist and the late Mrs. Hoist was married to Maurice, elder son of Mrs. E. K. Larkin, of Wadestown, Wellington, and the late Mr. Larkin (states "The Post's" Wanganui correspondent). The bride, who wore a frock of ivory lace and tulle veil caught with orange blossom, entered the church with her father. Miss Yvonne Larkin (sister of the bridegroom) was bridesmaid, wearing a dainty frock of white chiffon. The bride's bouquet was of chrysanthemums and begonias, and the bridesmaid's of autumn-tinted flowers. The reception was held at the Rutland Hotel. Mr. and Mrs. X.arkin will make their ftrture'home in Wanganui.
