Fine public buildings, parkSj, and beautiful statuary were also features of this wonderful little country. He also- gave a few of his main imprt&J sions of Chile and the Argentine. The Argentine, he said, was based on French culture. Italian labour, and British capital. It was an extremely wealthy' country, its main city, Buenos Aires, being one of the most beautiful in the world. The scenic beauties of Chile were very similar to New Zealand, and.many of its native plants closely resembled our own. Mr.1 Andersen^was cordially thanked.
