RUGBY, May 26.
In the Upper House of Convocation of Canterbury today the Archbishop of Canterbury referred to the impend^ ing retirement of the Prime Minister ■; and observed'that Mr. Baldwin's place' in the national life arid the part ' he had played there was far wider and , deeper than his influence as leader of a great party. Mr. Baldwin had proved himself a spokesman of the national spirit and he had put-before hil countrymen great ideals which transcended all bounds of party. His appeal for peace in industry, his call to youth, and his call to the British Commonwealth would never be forgotten.
