ENGLISH-SPEAKING UNION

The English-speaking Union also held one of their popular bridge afternoons yesterday in the National Club rooms. Baskets of Iceland poppies made the rooms look very attractive. Mrs. M. G. Phelan, wearing spotted canton crepe with corsage flowers of freesias and violets, received the guests, assisted by Mr. A. E. Webb. A delightful vase was won by Mrs. W. A. Fraser who had the nearest to the hidden number. The prize for-the highest contract score was won by Mrs. L. Evans, and Mr,s. A. T. Cartwright won' the prize for the highest bridge score.
