CANTON, August 2. General Chiang Kai-shek, leader of tlic Central Government, before departing by air for the scene of hostilities, issued an ultimatum to ihe rebel province of Kwangsi, where General Li has established autonomy, threatening a punitive campaign if he does not submit by August 5. Fighting has broken out between the rebels, and Government, troops near Fungchuen. British and foreign gun-boats are standing by Wuchow, on the Si-kiang. River, in order to protect nationals, including missionaries. . '
