DAY IN PARLIAMENT

Good progress-was made by the House of Representatives yesterday in further consideration of the Estimates, and ten classes were approved. They were:— Land for Settlement, £3454; 'Discharged Soldiers' Settlement, £57,000; State Forests, £114,241; Eailways, £5,380,940; Valuation Department, £38,000; Electoral Department, £5262; Crown Law Office, £5434; Public Service Commissioner's office, £4788; Public Trustee's Account £261,641.

There now remain only ten classes of the Estimates, apart from the Public Works Estimates, which will be considered separately, and the House will give consideration to the remaining classes on Tuesday.
