EVANS BAY NOTES
The opening of the yachting season is rapidly drawing near and activity ashore is becoming well-nigh feverish.
Already in Evans Bay some twelve or fifteen of the smaller boats have taken the water during the last two or three weeks, and by Labour Day, on which the Evans Bay Club officially opens the season, practically the entire fleet of keelers, centreboarders, a.nd launches will be ready to take part in the opening regatta. This season, promises to be not only very successful, but an intensely interesting one for this club, which Is rapidly expanding, and especially so in the smaller classes of boats.
A cordial invitation is extended to all other clubs to attend and take part, in the opening day regatta, which bids fair to exceed any previously held.
The probable performance of the Kestrel will no doubt be cause for the most conjecture among tho keel yachtsmen. She now possesses (it is understood on reliablo authority) both mainsail and rudder, which last year were alas I little .moro than a name.
