OPENING DAYS AT HAND
With only the Atalanta, Eona, and Wairere II to come off the slip, an early ■start will be made by Eoyal Port Nicholson Yacht Club members.
Increased- prize-money should be an incentive towards keener racing. Prizes are now the s.ame as they were for the 1932----33 season.
The Taipare broke her mast when it was being stepped last Sunday and ie now having a new ono made.
The Atalanta has had part of her deck renewed, and the Ailsa has reverted to her original colour of white. < The Suelem has been sold to Mr. T. B. Eeynolds and has been renamed the Jannet. Much hard work has been put in by her new skipper, C. Hollis, and his crew, and great things are expected of her. Opening day is set down for Saturday, November .10, subject to confirmation by the Wellington Yacht and Motor-boat Association. A dance is" to be held in the evening. The first-class centreboard races should prove interesting, as five Eona-Jellieoe boats, the Lavina, Jannet, Idono, Kitty, and Tassie, Mr. W. H. Wagstaff'e new boat, are anticipated to be racing together.
