FISH EXPORT TRADE
; A consignment of 1192 boxes o£ fish, valued at^ nearly £1000, was dispatched ,trom Auckland to Sydney at the end of last week by Sanford, Ltd. An improved and attractive method of packing was .adopted, and is expected to increase the export trade in fish to Australia. ';A previous, shipment of 969 similar boxes sent about six weeks.ago met with 'a keen demand in Sydney and Melbourne Plated interests in other centres," •said Mr.. J. J. Enwright, manager of the ■nrm. The boxes, which are bound with .wire, are loaded and unloaded on trays in the same manner as butter boxes to prevent damage. They vary in size ac•cording to the type o£ fish they contain •and range m-weight from 241b to 601b." • The consignment included snapper .terakihi, flounder, and kippers. . A number of boxes of snapper fillets was also sent, and future consignments will include crawfish. • • !
