Advances were £64,762, and the total of first mortgages, together w#ai; accrued and unpaid interest held now, amounted to £500,000. Total funds or bank, £664,062, an increase of £59,619 :in jx *ear* Tho Profiffor' the year was ££835, an. increase of £582, increasing the balance in profit and loss appropriation acconnt to £41,788. Interest from mortgages and investments realised £25,345, a decrease of £661. Income tax, which was paid for the first time in the bank's his■tory, reqiifced £829, The; balance-sheet ■shows cash at: £43,769, and Government stock at cost £71,985, representing almost twtce the amount of liquid resources required by statute. .
