MOTORIST PUNISHED

SEQUEL TO ACCIDENT

AUCKLAND, This Day. John Spencer, aged 37, an insurance agent, appeared on remand before Mr. W. E. McKean, S.M., on a charge of intoxication while in charge of a motorcar. He was also charged with dangerous driving and with failing to stop. He pleaded guilty. He was represented by counsel.

The police said that Miss Isobel Jack, who was knocked down at an intersection and seriously injured, was now out of danger.

Spencer was fined £25 on the intoxication charge and his licence was cancelled for a year. Ho was fined £10 for failing to stop, and £5 for dangerous driving, plus costs.
