FIRE BRIGADE'S WORK

SERVICES APPRECIATED

In appreciation of the work of the Fire Brigade in dealing with the fire at his residence, "Homewood," Karori, Mr, B. Sutherland has forwarded a donation of. £5 5s towards the brigade's recreation fund. "We realise that if the brigade had not responded to the call so promptly and so efficiently there would be no 'Homewood,' " Mr. Sutherland stated in an accompanying letter. "The work of your men in "suppressing the flames and at the same time preventing damage by water is greatly appreciated."

A similar donation has reen received, from Messrs. Armstrong and Springhall, Ltd., for services rendered at the fire in the firm's premises in Featherston Street.
