Cyklon, who was by Carbine's .greatest English son Spearmint, had an •interesting career. He was bred in England, and raced in England, Germany, and Australia. He began his career as a 1 three-year-old, and won his first five ractes. He was then sold' to a German owner} for whom he won'the'Furtenburg Memorial Stakes, of £2000, at Baden Baden." Clarke purchased Cyklon to join ; The Welkin.at the Melton Stud', Victoria, and he had no cause to regret his action,; for Cyklon's progeny had won, up to the close of last season, £104,608 in stakes, and many of-them are still racing.
