THE HECTOR CRAY CASE
The jockey Hector Gray made a further application for exemption from his statutory disabilities this week, but the licensing sub-committee of the New Zealand Racing Conference executive refused to grant it. Gray is at present prohibited from going on to a racecourse by regulations under the Gaming Act excluding, inter alia, "persons convicted of assault," and while such disability remains he cannot have any association with raciug.
