LOWER HUTT ATHLETIC CLUB
The annual meeting of the Lower Hutt Amateur Athletic Club this week was attended by some forty members. Mr. J. N. Millard presided. As the Hutt Recreation Ground is undergoing levelling, it was decided to hold the sports meetings on Trafalgar Park A motion of sympathy was passed with the relatives of the late Mr. A. Mcßara, one of the foundation members ot the club. , . , The balance-sheet showed a, credit balance and was considered very satisfactory. Cups won during the season were presented by Mr. Millard to the following:— James Cup: Miss A. Walker. Matthews Cup: Mr. J. Phillips. Strand Cup: Mr. H. W. Wheeler. Purtly Cup: Mr. J. W. Roberts. Trcseder Cup: Mr. J. 11. Phillips. vStevcrisou Cup: Mr. J. R- Cunningham. Officers for tho ensuing season were elected as follows:—Patron, Mr. W. Nash, M.P.; president, Mr. J. W. Andrews; vice-presidents, same as last year; club captain, Mr. R. Griffith; secretary, Mr. J \ Peterson; treasurer, Mr. J. I. Phillips; starter, Mr. T. E. La Eoche; management committee, Messrs. J. N. Millard, H. A. Walker, G. W. Markland, Monigatti, AY. A. Melrose, and D. Benton; delegate to Wellington Centre, Mr. H. Julian; auditor, Mr. A. J. Gearing.
