PAREMATA CLUB
Last Saturday's weather -was again a disappointment for ' Paromata yachtsmen, who had hoped to be able to sail up to Pliminerton for the opening of the Plimmerton Yacht Club. Four ot the yachts, the Miss Josephine, Kewpie, Kolecn, and Nustar, attempted the trip, but the advanco of a northerly was heralded by a large swell running on the bar, and all had to tarn back. Several members of the club went up by land to wish the Plimmerton Club the best of luck for its tenth season, and others attended tho dance held in the evening in aid of the ■ Aquatic "Princess." Much credit is due to the seamanship of the boys in the Takapunas. These little boats managed to sail round the course in the ''southerly buster" a fortnight ago when the 14-footers had to abandon their race. This shows tha value of tho training received in the Takapunas. Clive and Harry Highet, builders of the Little Haste and tho Putorino respectively, are building a ( new boat which they hope to have ready for the Easter regatta. Both their previous ships havo been "flyers," and in collaboration the two should produce something startling.
