REGATTA AT PETONE

HERETAUNGA CLUB'S PLAN

The Heretauuga Boating Club has decided to hold a regatta between Christmas and the New Year extending over a week with races for various classes of craft daily. This is an innovation which will be welcomed by most yachtsmen associated with centreboarders. Many of the keelers will be away in. the Sounds, as usual, and the regatta will cater for the smaller boats, and should jpe well supported. There is a proposal to establish a camp for yachtsmen near the Hutt Biver mouth, and Evans Bay yachtsmen are already discussing plans for spending a few days at the camp. The opening of the Heretaunga Boating Club's season was to take place this afternoon. One of the features of the programme was to be a keelers' race from Evans Bay to Petone.
