WORSER BAY CLUB
As opening day approaches all boats at Worser Bay are being overhauled and keyed up to racing trim. On -the Spinet the expedient has been adopted of carrying her deck planking right through, incorporating the splashboards in the decking. The Pukeko, a new IdleAlong class boat, gained a first at the Evans Bay Club's opening. She is built and owned by Mr. J. Fisher. Three other boats of this class have been built by Messrs. J. Young, J, Graham, and A. F. Mumford respectively, so that the club's races ths season will be almost exclusively patronised by Idle-Along boats. This, says a correspondent, is mute testimony to the superiority of this class of boat. Its wholesale adoption by the Wellington clubs shows that this class supplies the criterion for Wellington Harbour in the 12ft 6in class. The Worser Bay opening takes placo on November 11.
