TEMPERANCE WORKERS

"SHOP DAY" PLANNED

"Fear, and the cultivation of courage," was the subject chosen by Mrs. Peryman who presided at the recent meeting of the Wellington central group of the Women'a Christian Temperance. Union. Members were notified that all tranches of . the Wellington District Women's Christian Temperance Union would hold a "shop day" early in November, -and arrangements were discussed. An interesting address was given by Mrs.,T. E. Taylor (Dominion president), who' spoke on the "Nationality of Married Women," and it wag decided to write the Hon. J. A. Young making representations on, the subject. A hearty vote of thanks was passed to Mrs. Taylor. . , An appeal for help was received from the Salvation • Army, which will hold a "street day" shortly, and will be glad of goods to sell and of helpers to sell badges.
