Outside tbo course proper provided a good galloping ground, but with the Banks Peninsula Meeting attracting so ninny horses tlio proceedings were quiet. Beriito covered '•< mile in Imin 4'! 2-jsec,
Meprisant accompanying him over the last six furlongs. j Bell Hill did seven furlongs in lmin 30 2-ssec, Guarantee^ joining in over tho last half-mile. Nightly and Shatter ran half a mile in 51 2-ssec, Silver Flight half a mile in 50 l-ssec, Ringing Cheer five furlongs in lmin 2 l-ssec, and Southdown a mile in lmin 41 3-ssee, Arrow Rose assisting over tho last five furlongs. The Masqucrader broke away in front of Tout lc Monde, but tho pair were on terms after seven furlongs, covered in lmin 31 4-ssec. Croupier beat Hurlingham comfortably over five furlongs, in lmin 1 4-osec. Bright Red and Control run half a milo in '50sce-, and Spoon did a mile in lmin 41 3-sscc, Ruling Pen assisting over the last'half-mile. True Shaft van half .1 mile along tho back in 4Dsec. Lordly Knight did useful work on the plough.
