The Ministry of Transport, which, lias been considering the question of London traffic signal'lights,'. Las; expressed approval of the vehicle-actuated type in preference to those of the fixed timecycle variety. The typo approved is said to be more efficient, imposing fewer unnecessary delays upon traffic. Large municipal authorities in other parts of tho country, notably Leeds, Edinburgh, and Birkenhead, also favour vehicle-controlled signals.
Inquiries received by a British firm from other countries indicate that tho demand for the latest type of automatic traffic control is extending in many parts of the world.
