The-annual report;1 of'the stewards ofthe Ashhurßt-Pohangina:Racing Club, presented, at the annual..meeting, thia week, stated that notwithstanding the increased difficulties under which ■ racing was conducted during, the year, the meeting held on Anniversary Day, January '23, proved quite successful, and the financial result of the yeai-'s operations encouraged , them to view future prospects with.' confidence. The year' commenced with a debit balance1 of £231, and, after' meeting final payments amounting to £6SS in. connection with the completion of the grandstand, the indebtedness now stands' - at. £737. The revenue account showed the receipts to-have exceeded expenditure by £182, this amount being absorbed in depreciation. . ■
