PLEASING PERFORMANCE
The idea- that King's Knave was -unlucky to lose the Wynyard Plate atTakapuna to Broken Kule'seemed to receive some confirmation at Matamata last Saturday, when he won'the Hack Cup.' Among those unplaced were Broken Kule and the favourite, Bugle Call. In scoring narrowly yet decisively from the outsider and pacemaker, Lady Lulu, he was responsible for a pleasing, performance, as he was awkwardly placed' just before reaching the turn.
