FREE LABOUR AT WANGANUI

WANGANUI, This Day. The overseas liner Tasmania arrived last evening ; from. New. Plymouth to load cargo, including' frozen meat. A call for waterside labour met with no response, and the crew of the steamer refused to handle the meat.

This morning, free labour was engaged to' load -the lighters and the steamer, and work is proceeding. \ Twenty-five members of the executive of the Wanganui branch of the New Zealand Farmers' Union, including the president, Mr. T. Currie, are assisting to load meat on the liner Tasmania.
