POULTRY REGISTRATION
(To the Editor.)
;, Snv-In^ your, issue of 19th ■November the iNew/ealandr Poultry Association ehal> lenges my. association to a public debate orithe Poultry Amendment 'Bill. We'have no intention of taking up Hlie .bhallenVfe; I'or.one thingthe onus is on. the Government to sho;w that the measure is- necessary, and the llinisterr.of Agriculture ha«= -uotattempted to discharge that onus^ For another thing,-my association does not recpgmse the.N.ew.Zealand Poultry Association in this matter. The Bill is a Government measure, sponsored by the Minister of "Agriculture. We merely: repeated a statement 'matte in the House that the Bill.is beiDg promoted by the New Zealand loultry, Association, and the present outburst.by that organisatibn confirms it i' Evidence for and against-the Bill may be giveii before the ■ Agricultural, Pastoral and Stock Committee of the House in due course, and the "New Zealand Poultry Association will have an opportunity then to oppfose our views if it\so desires We have maSe. our public criticism Of the Bill and see no reason whatever for departing from it.—l am, etc., - .
