AUCKLAND, This Day. • Showers fell- overnight, but did not affect the going at Ellerslio this morning, where trainers used the course proper, on -which the poles were out 35 feet from the rails. The best efforts recorded were those of Lord Aintree, Hampton Park, Weo Pat, Glenromney, Tavporley, and Psychologist. Karangapai and Hunting March ran six furlongs in Imin 22 l-ssec. The formor pleased most.' Hawthorn ran four furlongs in 52sec, doing it nicely. Mahkill and On Approval, with Gay Broney to assist them over tho last half-mile, were in that order after five furlongs run in Imin 6 2-ssec. Vandyke ran six furlongs in Imin 22 2-ssec ; and could have done a lot better. Barn' Dance and My Money were together after three furlongs covered in 39 l-ssec, the former appearing better at the finish. Tho Avondalo Stakes candidate Glenromney reeled off a similar task in 38 l-ssec, and was full of running at th© finish. Wee Pat, assisted by tho Kilbroney— Miss Hazel gelding over the last three furlongs, ran six in Imin 20 3-ssec. The final three took 41 l-ssec. Buling King and Supreme Euler finished on terms after half a mile covered in 52see, a good effort. Clontarf Bill, with a good weight up, ran five furlongs in Imin 7 2-ssee. Claremorc did half a mile in 51 4-ssee. Hampton. Park beat Boyal paUant

over six furlongs run in Imin 20 2-fse'c. Hampton Park finished impressively. Court Haven was doing better than Tetrarchate after five furlongs run in Imin 6 4-ssec. The best effort of the morning over five furlongs, was. recorded- by Lord Aintree. He ran the first two furlongs in 25 2-ssee and completed the five in Imin 4 4-ssec. There was little between Psychologist, Tarporley, and Vilma after half a mile run in 51 2-ssec. Vilma had the outside running and shaped well. AT TAKANINI. All the fast work at Takanini was carried out on the, middle grass, where the going was particularly good. Thespis completed seven furlongs in Imin 30 4-ssee.
