MR. ANDREW MELLON
AMBASSADOR TO BRITAIN
HOOVER OFFER ACCEPTED
AVASHINGTON, 4th February.
Mr. Andrew Mellon, Secretary of the United States Treasury, has announced his acceptance) of the Ambassadorship to Britain, offered to him on Wednesday, by the President. In making this announcement President Hoover said: "A critical situation is facing all countries in their international relations. The manifold economic and other problems demanding wise solution call for experience and judgment of the highest order." Mr. Ogden. Mills, of New York, Under-Secretary for the Treasury, will become Secretary when. Mr. Mellon departs.
