OBITUARY

GENERAL PAU

PARIS, 2nd January. The death is announced of General Pau.

General Mary Caesar Gerald Pau mi S3 years of age and was a famous French military leader. In 1897 he became a brigadier, and in 1903 was appointed a divisional commander. For a time he was a member of the French. War Council, and in 1914= was appointed to the command of the Alsace Army. During the war he led several missions which France sent abroad, and in 1919 he visited Australia, New Zealand, and Canada at the head of a French Mission of seven members, which included Dr. Andre Siegfried.
