LONDON PERSONALS
(From "The Post's" Representative.) LONDON, 4th September. Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Knight (Hataitai) and Mr. C. C. R. Knight bought a car on their arrival in June, and in this they have been touring the United Kingdpm, Belgium, Holland, Germany, Austria, Italy, Switzerland, and Prance, covering some 3000 miles. On their return from tho Continent they travelled through Wales and Scotland. Early this month the travellers will leave England via Suez and India expecting to reach Wellington at tho end Df October. - Mrs. M. A. Coleman (Wellington) ha 3 recently been on the Sussex coast staying/With rolatives of her husband. She has also' travelled a great deal in England since her arrival in April, and she has been to the battlefield area in France. In Leicester Mrs. Coleman stayed with relatives, and from this uentto she made, many very interesting tours', in the beauty of spring time. Mr. and Mrs. A. G. Jorgenscn (Wellington) left New Zealand in February but did not reach England until toward the end of May. In the meantime they bad been travelling in China, Japan, Canada, and. the United States. The next three months Were devoted to tours in England, Scotland, and Ireland. On Ist October Mr. and Mrs. Jorgensen will leave for the Continent, to tour in France, Belgium, Holland, Denmark, Germany, Switzerland, and Italy. On 27th November they will connect at Marseilles with the Ranchi for Bombay. At the beginning of January they will join the Kalyan at Colombo for Penang and Singapore. Sydney should bo reached early ia February, via Java ports and Macassar, and then will come the crossing to WellingtonProfessor D. M. Y. Sommerville (Wellington), accompanied by Mrs. Sommerville, arrived by the Port Huon. He baa come to England principally in connection with the centenary meeting of the British. Association in London (23rd30th September), to which he is a delegate from the New Zealand Institute and the Australian and Now Zealand Association for the Advancement' of Science. ) Professor Sommerville will represent the New Zealand Institute also at the Faraday celebrations in London this month, and the Clerk Maxwell selebrations in Cambridge in October. He will read a paper at the geometry lession of the pure mathematic subsection of section A of the British Association. With the exception of a proposed short motor tour in Germany, Professor and Mrs. Sommerville intend So spend most of their time with relatives and friends in Scotland and Ireland. They,expect to return to Wellington in January, either via Panama 3r via New York.
