JUNIOR RED CROSS

Many activities are reported by Miss Lissington as the result of tlio mouth's work by the Keel Cross Juniors. The proceeds of the Junior stall, held with the Civilian Blind peoplo at the Winter Show, amounted to £21 approximately. Thanks are tendered to all who gave assistaneo at this stall. An interesting gift from Czecho-Slovakia Eed Cross children was that of several small packets of glass bead necklaces made by the children themselves, as a token of pcaco greetings and assuranco of friendship. Tho juniors of the Ikawai circlo (Waimatc) are preparing a return gift for this acceptable one. The girls at Turakina Maori Girls' Collego have done good work in knitting garments made out of the wool of old garments given them. Tho girls at this collego havo very little money at their disposal, but are anxious to get clean material, such as tho tops of old stockings, to work up into garments for Maori children. Reports arc quoted from all over the Dominioa of good work done. Money for good causes is raised, gifts of food and clothing sent forwnrd for tho distressed, and a school in Dunedin is already at work making toys for distribution to littlo ones at Christmas-time. The young ones have held concerts, "vegotable and _ egg days," and have originated quite a number of good ways in giving value for the moiiey donated. Sister Lewis's report deals witli examinations held, of which there were many, and the results were most satisfactory. The Best Room and Aid Station provided at tho Winter Show were appreciated and proved very useful. A students' dance will be held tins month, with Misses D. Cooper and M. Lochoro as honorary secretaries. Sister Lees writes also about classes held in connection with senior work, which includes Tramping Club "First Aid classes, and work at girls' colleges, and several primary schools. A clinic has been held at Moe'ra, and sick and necessitous cases visited.
