The bulk <of our supplies were left at Hastings, a few. being handed to Sister Lewis at. Nelson Park. Camp, Napier. . .',<'' "In conclusion, I would like to say that men and women throughout- the stricken district are giving wonderful service, the value of which cannot be1 estimated, and I am indeed grateful that Jted Cross workers were so promptly gathered together, and I desire to express my keen'appreciation of the'work also being done by St. John's Ambulance and "the local citizen relief organisations established in Napier and Hastings. . "This report would not be complete without reference to,the splendid assistance given by numerous towns and villages and private people on the route from Wellington to Hastings, refreshments and information being provided at all points.": ' , , ' ■-,■■'■
