DAY OF PROGRESS

A reassuring message on the position at Napier was received by the Prime Minister from the Minister of Health (the Hon. A. ,T. Stallworthy) last evening. Mr. Stallworthy telegraphed from Napier as follows: — "The day has been fruitful of much real progress. A vast amount of work has been done, and all essential services are being rapidly restored, including water, sewerage, lighting, and power. Even the Salvation Army Silver Band is playing to-night. The people are really gratified for the great assistance the Government has rendered I with such promptitude." ■ ■ ,
