SACRED CONCERT
To-morrow night in the Town Hall many of Wellington^ leading musicians will be associated in a sacred concert, arranged by- Mr. H. Templd White, in'aid of, the Earthquake Belief Fund. . The City Organist (Mr. Bernard F., .Page) has courteously given up his usual recital, and will bo a contributor to tho programme."Others assisting in what should be a memorable- concert.will be. Mrs. Wilfred Andrews, Misses Myra Sawyer and Mary Cooley, Messrs. Leon de Mauny and. Harison Cook. The Wellington Ladies' Trio and the Apollo Singers, Wellington's new male choir, and Madame do Mauny and Mr. Frank Crowther as accompanists. With such an array of talent assembled in a cause which is so near to the heart of every individual in the community, a crowded audience, and a generous response are assured. A noteworthy fact is that every penny contributed will be handed to the, fund, there being no expenses whatsoever.
To-morrow afternoon at 2.45 o'clock at the Basin Eeserve, Jupp's Silver Band' will give a recital in aid of the Earthquake . Belief Fund. Several' pioneer bandsmen of .the city have volunteered to augment the band for this decasion, and' a very fine programme has been arranged, comprising hymn, "O God, Our Help in Ages Past",' trombone solp, "Land of Hope and Glory"; "Unfinished Symphony Vj chorus, "Gloria Twelfth Mass"; cornet solo, "Calvary"; hymn, "Nearer My God to Thee"; and march, "Garland of Flowers." Members of the Red Cross Society will take up the collection^ and the public are asked to subscribe liberally.. Members of the band are' asked to meet at Basin Reserve instead of Botanical Gardens as originally arranged. .■'■'.■
