AMATEUR ROWING

CHAMPIONSHIP PROGRAMME

This season's New Zealaud championship regatta was fixed by the Wellington Regatta Club last evening to take place on 28th February at Wellington. The date and programme have to be approved by the New Zealand Council. The committee decided to include an extra event, the Welter Junior Fours. The total prize money to be distributed is £150. The following officials were appointed:— Starter, Mr. M. A. Turner; umpire, Mr. W. R. C. Oswin; judges, Messrs. E. S. luucs, G. Lniichlitn, A. D. Bayfeild, H. Paton, and G. F. Turner; time-keepers, Messrs. P. N. Den ton and G. C. Sherwood; clerks of scales, Messrs. L. Drummond, V. Dunne, and R. A. Lincoln. The programme, with donations, is as follows:— Junior single sculls, one mile; first &o, second £2. Maiden pairs, one mile; £5 and £2. . Lightweight maiden fours, one mile; £8 aud £2. Championship pairs, one mile and a half; £10 and £3. Maiden fours, one mile; £9 and ks. Championship singles, one mile; £S and £2. Welter junior fours (lOst 71b limit), one mile; £8 and £2. Championship fours, two miles; £30 and £5. Youths' fours, one mile; £8 and £3. Junior fours, oue mile and a half; £10 and £3. Championship doubles, one mile and a half; £10 and £3. Consolation fours, one mile and a half; £12 and £3. The Bridson and Pearce Challenge Cups will be awarded to the winner _of the junior and senior singles respectively.
