PETONE TECHNICAL HIGH SCHOOL

The monthly meeting of the Petone Technical High School Board of Managers was held .last evening. Present: Mr. D. M'Kenzie (chairman), Mrs. Aitchison, and Messrs. W. Parkinson, J. J. Lewthwaite", H. Morris, E. Neill, A. Grierson, W. Dyer, E. Campbell, J. W. Longman, and W. B. Nicholson. The Registrar of Apprentices advised that his committee had approved the formation of a furniture trade class at the school. It was decided to advertise the class as commencing in February. In view of the largo number of students expected to enrol next year,, it was decided to authorise the chairman as principal to procure temporary accommodation pending the erection of the new classrooms. The Petone Borough Council is. to be thanked for providing two grass tennis courts for the use of students. The chief mechanical engineer of the Railway Department thanked the board for- its assistance in its recent examinations, and for allowing its principal, Mr. A. M'Fadyen, to act as examiner. Mr. A. J. Lowry was appoiuted engineering instructor.
