PLIMMERTON BOATING CLUB

The Pliinmerton Boating Club's racing programme opened on Saturday afternoon with a race for the Barnes Cup. There were six starters and all got away well on the close-haul in the light southerly, from Karehana Bay to the first buoy. Mr. Bryant's Huia was soon in the lead, being closely followed over the first two rounds by Mr. Redwood's Minnehaha. The Huia owed much of her success to the good use made of her spinnaker in the falling wind, while Mr. Redwood handled the Minnehaha admirably. The finishing and corrected times were as follow:— Huia, (F. Bryant), 5h llmin, 5h lliniu 1 Minnehaha (C. Redwood), 5h 29min., 5h 21min 2 Ramona (C. Swift), Oh 38min, 5h 20m in 3 Also started: Colleen (C. Dallaston), oh 36min, 5h 30min; Seagull (G. Ninimo), Sea Lady (H. France).
