WORSER BAY CLUB
A race was held on Saturday in a light southerly wind. There were five entrants, the course being from the clubhouse to the Seatoun AVharf, thence to the tidegauge and back to the clubhouse, twice round. ' The Spitfire, flying a jib, was away first with 10 minutes off scratch, followed by the O.K. Baby, a new Takapuna, with 7 minutes. The Ngaroma had five minutes, and the two Sail Along class boats, the Kiwi and Demon, were ou scratch. The O.K. Baby was first around the wharf buoy, and although she was lucky enough to hold the wind all the way, she was well handled by R. Rountree. She gained a good lead, which the scratch boats were unable to make up. The Ngaroma and the Spitfire had a good tussle, the latter finally finishing first at fourth place. The Kiwi, which carried a good twenty feet less sail than Demon, finished, third. The. class is strictly one design,'.but the Kiwi's sails were not ready. The failing wind exaggerated the lead of the first boats to finish. Finishing times'were-as follow: — . O.K. Baby (7min), R. Rountree, 4hr 16niiu , 1 Demon (scr), G. Cain, 4hr 21min .... 2 Kiwi (scr), N. M'Kcnzie, 4hr 34min .. 3 Spitfire (lOmin), R. Kerr, 4; Ngaroma (smin),.H. Murphy, 5.
