PETONE CLUB
The Petoue Rifle Club fired a competition counting for the club championships, Flaws Cup, and second short range handicap series at Trentham on Saturday, ranges 500 and COO yards. "The weather conditions were ideal, though there was a fairly steady right wind o£ medium strength. .The attendance was again good, and the shooting generally was of a high standard. At 500 yards some brilliant scores were registered, five members beating the club standard of 47. W. M'lver, with 49 out of the possible 50, scored his "inner" with the sixth shot. Four members, O. Pedersen, W. H. Balliuger, A. Ballinger, and G. R. Bull scored 48. Ballinger was most unfortunate in '.'dropping" a shot and scoring a "bird"\for his seventh counter. G. J\. Bull is a Cjgrado shot, and his performance' is very- creditable. A. Buck (also, a new member) and. R. H. Nieholl scored 46 each. . At 600 yards the best .scores were made by E. Veitch and N. E. Solomon, with 46 each. The wind proved a little unsteady at this distance. G. R. Bull scored 45, and five members 44 each. The best aggregate off the gun for the day's shooting was G. R. Bull's 93, and he was congratulated on his good performance. E. A^eitch, 0. Pedersen, and AY. M'lver were next with 91 each. K. H. Nieholl and A. Buck scored 90 each. E. Veitch is shooting very consistently. The spoon-winners for the day are L. Rule and O. Pedersen in A grade; L. Wales and P. Stewart in B grade, A. Buck and G. R. Bull in C grade. With one Saturday to go, the secoud short range handicap series competition (best three out of four aggregates) is at a. very interesting- stage. The following are the twelve leading totals: G. R.
