ISLAND BAY SCHOOL

The monthly meeting of the Island Bay Home and School Association was presided over by Mr. C. D. Lennie (president). The attendance was very satisfactory, j It was decided to accept the invitation to attend the meeting convened by the School Committees' Association to hear addresses on the Education Report. It was decided to hold over any further action regarding Victory Park until definite requests are received from the school committee. Mr. C. B. M'Dougall (chairman of the school committee) gave an interesting address on school pictures and their value, stating that pictures that were place '. in schools should be works of the masters, and pictures that were not merely pleasing but instructive and of beauty. A vote of thanks was accorded to Mr. M'Dougall for the address. Mr. E. J. Smith gave a short address on "Publicity/ which was most interesting and instructive, and was thanked for it. The headmaster (Mr. Howartli) reported that the arrangements for the school extravaganza were in hand, and the scholars were well advanced in their training.

It was decided to continue the euchre parties indefinitely.
