SUNDAY SCHOOL UNION
The monthly meeting of the Sunday. School Union was held last evening,^when 20' delegates attended. The chair was occupied by the president, Mr. W. B. Howe. It was decided'- to-send-a-letter ..to all schools; suggesting that-they'should consider the advisability-of concentrating on the Australasian and British lessoit courses to enable scholars who move-from on 2 place to another to. keep.up the ..continuity of the course of lessons for the year. If the courses are, restricted, to two it will enable the union to arrange tor. a combined teachers' preparation class next winter. .. . .... It was decided to have a meeting ot scholars and friends-in the Town Hall on Sunday, 9th November, to. celebrate tho third jubilee of the founding of Sunday schools by Eobert ■ Kaikes.' Mr. W. i. Stock was appointed convener of the committee to arrange for the meeting. A teachers tea and social evening is to be held on Saturday, 26th October. : " Mr. Howe reported that in spite of the bad weather the attendance of scholars at the rally practices was fair. A vote of sympathy was passed with Mr. C. E. Daniell in the loss suffered by him in the death of his daughter, Mrs. M Eldowney. ' s
