THORNDON-KAIWARRA TRACK
(To the Editor.) Sir, —"Only a Cyclist" compares a Taranaki bush road with a capital city highway. The Thorndon-Kaiwarra track is for the use of cyclists; a Taranaki bush' road is by no. means for this express purpose. Therefore, why shame the authorities with such a comparison? Would it not be better to compare this''well-known and well-used track to the cycle tracks as supplied for cyclists in the Borough of L'eilding? Compare the'-'.ill state of the Thorndon-Kaiwarra track with the well kept and highly appreciated cycle tracks in Feilding is more likely to move the authorities to do better " than Feilding. —I am, etc., , "ONE WHO KNOWS AND A NATIVE OF .TAKANAKI."
The new. Canadian Pacific liner, Empress of Japan, is full of electric appliances. There is wireless telegraphy, with a wireless direction finder, electric apparatus for submarine signalling, and a gyroscopic- compass; an electric gramophone repeater, and an electric cinema. All the food is cooked on electric stoves.
