PLAYERS REINSTATED
The Management Committee 'of the Mew Zealand Biugby Union, met last evening.,. \.MjvS. S. Dean presided, and there were also present Messrs.! A. C. Eitto,'H. S. Leith, J, G. Roaehe, T. ,A, Fletcher, B. M'Kenzie, E. Wylie, Kingi Tahiwi (Maori Advisory Board), and A. E.- Neilson (secretary). . ■ The Wanganui ! P'nion applied, to have its match against Southland* on 26th July declared a challenge game for theEanfurly Shield. H. C. Shroder, of Nelson, wrote stating tliat he was being prevented from ■playing becanse. the-Nelson Union refused to classify him, as a junior on account of his weight. He said that he was:3B years of age, and hadsbeen playing Eugby for the Waimea Club under ' the Nelson Union for twenty-two years,: but owing to his age his club Was unable to place Him in-the senior team this year, and, his club's application to have him classified as a-junior had been refused. Itr was decided to forward the letter to the Nelson Union with a covering letter expressing no opinion on the case, but'suggesting that where possible players should be given the opportunity of taking the field. In reply- to a letter from the New Zealand Unions the Wellington Union advised that it was prepared to accept IS per,cent, of the gate takings*of the Maori Possibles v. Probables match on 2nd July. .
