SIR J. CONNOLLY. APPOINTED

The Government of Malta has appointed Sir James Connolly as AgentGeneral in London. Sir. James Connolly was a member of the' Western Australian Cabinet duriug the period that Lord Strickland, now Prime Minister of Malta, was Governor of that State. Self-government was conferred upon Malta some years ago, and the appointment of an Agent-General in London is made to bring Malta into line with the status of the Dominions and the self-governing colonies which are similarly represented in London.
