POST OFFICE- TELEPHONE BRANCH. The annual-picnic of the Telephone Branch of the Post Office was held at Trentham. Kain detracted from the plea-sure-of an otherwise enjoyable gathering, and prevented the attendance of those members of the staff-required to remain at work in'the city until midday. Thorough, arrangements were, made for tbo. entertainment of both adults and children. , At the conclusion of the sports programme the' district telegraph engineer (Mr. J. TEXAS' COMPANY (AUSTRALASIA);; .-The staff of; the Texas Company, (Aust.), Ltd., were fortunate when .Tuesday.;last turned into a day o£ glorious sunshine, and so put the hallmark of success on the plans made for their annual picnic. Titani Bay was the scene of the outing,-and on arrival at 10 a.m.' a prearranged gramme was quickly put into cllect. btau events, open events, events for. married and single, Woye<|"equally: popular," and the morning passed all tod quickly in friendly contest, cricket* and swimming; At 3 p.m.: tin adjournment was made tor luncheon.
